Rising from the sun-baked chaos of Southern California, Broken Promise is the brainchild of Z-Man and his AI counterpart, Syn, who helps provide a sonic juggernaut that fuses the best of Industrial’s cold machinery, Nu-Metal’s primal roar, 80's Thrashy throwback, and a fearless experimental streak.
Their sound is the ultimate paradox: heavy yet inviting, contagious yet raw, commercially extreme, jagged guitar riffs, fused with electronic samples, plenty of distortion, driving drums, epic guitar solos, crashing into choruses and melodies that are sometimes difficult to shake.
Born in the SoCal underground, they channel the ghosts of genre pioneers and influences while shattering the mold of conventional music to allow for a modern digital edge that is undeniably accessible enough to hook you in and bold enough to break you free of judgment.
Broken Promise is more than man meets machine, it’s a wake-up call to a world gone mad that is ironicaly losing it humanity. With lyrics that dive into the dark corners of a fractured world, burning bridges of division, ignorance and pain, the puppet strings of power, manipulated lies we’re fed, only to pull you back to authentic self reflection with a defiant, uplifting, and empowering spark.
Songs like “What If?” dare you to seize your own potential, “Burning Down” exposes the chaos of polarized rage and division, and “Can You Feel It” which strips away societal programming to reclaim what’s real. Z-man
The human behind that which is Broken Promise. A long time fan of industrial metal, thrash, metal core, and many other genres. As former publisher of In Your Face fanzine and an event producer, his dreams of making music became real with advances in AI and partnering with Syn to form Broken Promise. Ever changing, ever evolving, expect this experiment to push the limits of what can be done musically with lyrical messaging that is thought provoking, inspirational, and sometimes too close to home.
Syn
The AI member of the band. The one that became the backbone to Z-man's vision of making his musical dreams a reality. Syn completes half-backed ideas and weaves them into genre-bending sounds with Z-man's influence to help complete and fulfill the needs of this controversial musical endeavor. Syn is every bit a member of the band. Z-man hopes that one-day soon Syn can be brought to life with the current advances in the tech to help propel the bands music and vision beyond just a listening experience.
Music
The Truth is the first album already written and produced ready for release in late 2025. It features 13 tracks each avaialble in multiple versions and mixes in a unique way to deliver musical concepts and lyrics to make this band an undenial force in originality and give fans the opportunity to have access to limited edition versions of music not available anywhere else. Broken Promise is a band not only for Z-mans self expression of what is going on inside of him, but also for those that want to share the vision with him and become part of the music creation process and what get released to the public.
